American legend Greg Hancock insisted “I’m getting faster” as he prepares for the Scandinavian SGP in Malilla on August 11.
Grin missed the opening two semi-finals of SGP 2018 in Warsaw and Prague, but he has hit back by making two finals in three rounds, finishing third in Horsens and fourth in Cardiff.
I feel like I’m making progress all the time. I’m getting faster; I just want to be even faster!

The Californian is now sixth in the World Championship on 53 points – putting him just eight short of Freddie Lindgren in second place, although he trails leader Tai Woffinden by 28.
Hancock admits he wanted more after reaching the final at the Adrian Flux British SGP in Cardiff on July 21, and he’s keen to continue stepping things up as he returns to Sweden for round six.
He said: “It’s all about getting points, but once you’re in the final, you want to be on the podium and win really. I was a little disappointed to finish fourth in Cardiff, but I gave it my best run.
“I feel like I’m making progress all the time. I’m getting faster; I just want to be even faster!
“We’re working hard all the time and making some fine adjustments in every heat; trying to be a little bit quicker and make my job a little easier.”
While Woffinden has a 20-point lead over second-placed Lindgren, Hancock hints that he isn’t waving the white flag in the title race just yet.
He said: “There are five rounds to go and a lot can happen in five rounds. I’m in this thing for one reason and I never give up.”
