With the May Day bank holiday in the UK pushed back to Friday, May 8, fans will be flocking to Manchester’s National Speedway Stadium for the first Monster Energy SON Final to be staged in the UK.
Great Britain have already been seeded into the showdown as host nation, with the top three sides from each of the semi-finals in Landshut on April 25 and Daugavpils on May 2 set to join them.
Multi-time FIM Speedway World Cup winners Poland meet hosts Germany, Denmark, Czech Republic, Slovenia, France and Italy at Semi-Final 1 in Landshut, while back-to-back world champions Russia line up in Semi-Final 2 against hosts Latvia, Australia, Sweden, Ukraine, Finland and USA in Daugavpils.
The six sides joining GB in the Final could face a Lions side bolstered by the return of triple world champion Tai Woffinden, who is available after missing the 2019 Final in Togliatti, Russia due to a back injury.
Woffy inspired the Brits to second place at the first-ever Monster Energy SON Final in Wroclaw, Poland in 2018 and the Lions will be determined to go one better on home soil next spring.
With tickets set to go fast for one of Britain’s biggest weekends of racing in 2020, make sure you pick up your Monster Energy SON Final tickets while you can!
