Australian duo Max Fricke and Jason Doyle roared into double figures for Rospiggarna as they warm up for the Monster Energy FIM Speedway of Nations Finals, but couldn’t save the Hallstavik side from defeat on Tuesday.
Rospiggarna went down 54-36 away to Indianerna in the Swedish Elitserien, despite Fricke racing to 12 paid 13 and Doyle adding 11 paid 12. Dan Bewley enjoyed a solid Swedish league debut on six paid seven.
But the Indians triumphed with Denmark’s Anders Thomsen leading the way on 12 paid 14. Piotr Protasiewicz stormed back into form with 10 paid 12 and 2012 world champion Chris Holder collected a straight 10.
In the day’s other meeting, Polish star Piotr Pawlicki picked up 13 points for Dackarna as they sunk local rivals and league leaders Vastervik 56-33 in Malilla.
His compatriot Patryk Dudek weighed in with 11 paid 12, while Jacob Thorssell bagged 10 paid 12. Polish captain Maciej Janowski stepped up his Monster Energy SON Finals preparations for Togliatti this weekend with nine paid 10 – a score matched by Danish under-21 racer Frederik Jakobsen.
Triple world champion Nicki Pedersen notched 10 paid 11 for Vastervik, while Swedish international Peter Ljung added nine.
The meetings between Smederna and Vetlanda and Masarna and Piraterna were postponed due to rain.
