FIM Speedway Grand Prix star Matej Zagar is on course for a staggering 18th straight Slovenian Championship after winning round two of the series in home city Ljubljana on Saturday.

Zagar was pipped to the top of the scorechart by international team mate Matic Ivacic, who defeated him in the heats to record a 15-point maximum, while the five-time SGP winner scored 14.

But when it came to the final, Zagar got the better of his rival to top the podium and win his second round of 2019 following victory in Krsko on April 6.

Young gun Nick Skorja was third after scoring 13 in the heats and finishing third in the final.

The last round will be staged on July 13 as Zagar bids to continue his incredible winning streak which runs all the way back to 2002.
